Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hello again. Today is St. Patrick's Day. Few know it even is a holiday. I suppose they missed the green beer at the bar or the Shamrock shakes at McDonald's (green minty milkshakes). Then there is the St. Paddy's Parade in downtown Des Moines today. The weatherman said it will be a lovely lamb day for the celebration. I get to work. But at least I wear green for the holiday. My boss allows little decorations and such on our professional uniforms, unlike other car rentals. Other people simply state that they are not Irish and don't wear green on St. Patrick's Day. That's Ok. I am part-Irish. My Irish side came from Londonderry in Northern Ireland in the 1760's I think, maybe earlier, and settled in Kentucky. I know before the French and Indian War that immigrant ancestor was here. Back then that was the wild frontier. A branch of the family moved north to Illinois in the 1800's sometime and later my ancestors moved west to Iowa, I think great-great grandparents. And here I am. Anyway, Happy St. Patrick's Day to all. Post later. Bye!
