Antifreeze Leaking Now

Apparently, roommate found a new mechanic in the suburbs and says not to return to my mechanic cause when they fix something, something else goes wrong, so they are incompetent. He also accused them of upselling unnecessary repairs. Well, this new mechanic did a diagnostic and came up with $2000 worth of needed repairs. I am paying my mortgage and state income taxes this week don't have any extra money to pay for all that. Roommate is terrified to drive this car, calling it a safety hazard. He is afraid the brakes will give out and crash the car. Ok, I asked if he had trouble braking and stopping. No. He would know if the brakes were going bad. He wants to tow it to another used car lot and sell it. He can quit his job and drive my car working a food service app when I don't need it. I want to get it in working order to drive it to a new used car lot to sell it. And BTW, how do I know this new guy isn't upselling unnecessary repairs? I try to explain that this is what cheap used cars are like. They're crap, especially when they have 190,000 miles on them. I'm sorry, but that is what happens when you buy used cars. They break down right after you get them. So anyway, he sends the laundry list of repair suggestions. Including an oil change when the seller told us he put in new oil, so we didn't have to change it for 3000 miles. Well, roommate sent the diagnostic to his dad, and Dad replied many repairs can wait. Roommate decided to keep the car and do fewer deliveries with it, and earn enough money for his job to pay for the other repairs. OK. We paid for the towing, the diagnostic, a new radiator cap, and supplies. Other suggested repairs we didn't do: New radiator tube, coolant flush, brake caliper, front brake pads and rotors, brake fluid flush, new intake tube, engine front cover, oil change, degrease service, replace windshield wipers, and engine air filter. We just had leaking antifreeze, and he accused my mechanic of upselling. I told him he can find another mechanic, and they will be the same way.

Unemployment checks done

Troubling Day. Late to a Pilates class to observe it, and 5 minutes late because of an accident on the interstate, then all other roads were packed with rush hour and schools letting out. Sigh. I need to observe earlier or later classes. Ran into 2 classmates. One took the class I was observing, and the other was there to do practice teaching with a friend. I feel that I am falling behind. Then, to add to my stress, this is the last week for unemployment checks, and someone's car was leaking antifreeze to start smoking, taking my last check to pay a mechanic to fix it. Plus paying my state income taxes and mortgage, putting pressure on my bank account, with limited resources. Next, it is almost May 1, the day a museum I applied to volunteer at opens, and no word about my volunteering. Just ghosted me after the interview. Seriously, somebody is not interested in me volunteering. I'm sorry, I'm not chasing down the volunteer coordinator. I've got too much on my plate. I need to focus on getting my work done so I can apply for the internship (hopefully in a couple of months). Sigh.

Flypaper for Freaks

The weirdest thing happened today. This morning at 4 AM an old coworker sent a message through social media asking me to start dating him. I told him I'm dealing with a lot stress right now and no energy left to date him. My roommate is mad I blew him off so quickly. You know I'm so lonely and desperate. I wasn't interested in him then and not interested him now. I'm shocked he even asked when known each other for 25 years and he got divorced 2 years ago. We never had a conversation when we worked together and not since connecting through social media. Why, after all this time is he suddenly interested in dating me. I thought it was weird.

Noteworthy Sermon

Sat through a sermon today about forgiveness, and the pastor told a story about shopping in a store. The clerk asked if he was Christian, and he was wearing regular clothes, so he was dumbfounded at the question. The clerk asked because the pastor was putting everything back in its place (instead of leaving where it didn't belong). He discovered after a brief conversation this clerk kept a list of dislikes of churches they had been to. At one church, he wore sweatpants to the worship service, and they were criticized so disliked that church. Went to another church, and they did something someone criticized, so they didn't like that church. Apparently, this clerk doesn't handle criticism well. Not good for a customer service job. Well, the pastor continued, when we make lists of dislikes, we create walls, and he spent many hours breaking down those walls. And walls are bad for a church, as well as in marriages. The pastor suggested forgiveness and not making lists of what we dislike about someone. Sinning and having someone call you out on it is not necessarily a bad thing. I thought that was a good point.

Tornado Warning

Had a wicked thunderstorm blow in tonight. Glued to the TV. Tornado in suburbs to west and east. Dipping clouds above downtown area freaked out weatherman whose TV station was underneath them. Tornadoes reported all over the state. We are safe.

My cat is a murderer

Rosie this morning killed 4 baby rabbits. They found a nest in the yard and I thought it was a toy the dogs drag outside. At first I thought dead creature was a mouse then the legs resemble a rabbit and I think they were newborn rabbit babies. I'm sorry I didn't save you, your cries for help sounded like a toy. Found 1 on the cat tower by the food bowls and another on the floor by the cat tower. Poor babies. PS. I found a 5th baby rabbit under the bird seed and a spider.

Vet visit

Took Rufus to the vet to have tooth removed and now looks like 3 will be removed. They called to ask permission to do Xrays on his teeth. Poor pup. Before I got him he had a tooth removed by the animal shelter.

PS. Only 2 teeth removed. The 3rd was already removed. 2 days he gets soft food and no excitement. I give pain meds twice a day. Vet called this morning to check on Rufus. I said he was fine, eating soft food, and getting his meds.

Overslept

Great. Miss another Pilates class. Wake up before dawn and can't get back to sleep. Get up and eat breakfast. Plenty of time until need to leave for class. Lay on the couch and overslept. They lock students out if they are late so won't bother going. Completed an online class. Definately need to work on strength and flexible to do the advanced class moves.

Pilates Class Obervation

Did an observation of a Pilates class today. Forgot about how long the dog grooming appointment was going to be so missed the first class I intended to observe. Then the 2nd class, I arrived on time but the class already started so sat in a corner to observe. At least I wasn't locked out. Toward the end, a classmate arrived. She is teaching a class. Oh, trainer mentioned doing assistant teaching since our studio classes were completed. No, she's an apprentice teacher now and teaching a class by herself. Oh. I was hoping to join their internship program when I got enough required work done. Now I wonder if they will let me intern if they already have one. There are 12 in my class and unsure if they let all of us intern. I need to some work done.

Bought a pizza from the wrong place

PO'ed Roommate pretty good. Received an email for a special at a pizza restaurant, Every item $7 each so ordered a pizza and cheesy sticks. Roommmate working for another pizza restaurnt saw the box and screamed at his girlfriend "Who ordered Pizza!" I entered the room to claim I ordered the pizza caused emailed a special deal. I can order a pizza from his shop someday though unsure if he will be the driver or someone else. He is unsure about the place cause he is the new guy so few people talk to him. Funny, the guy who trained him at another restaurant's is working with him now.

Caught in the rain and hail

Well that was fun. Took dogs out for a walk before storm hits. Then started to sprinkle. Then rained harder. Then started to hail about size of a pea. Thunder booming. Made the dogs move instead rolling in the grass smelling the flowers. Then we get home and the sun comes out. Hair is soaked but clothing not bad. Making chicken and noodles.

Rejection for eBook Distribution

Received another rejection from the publisher because the author's name is not on the cover page. The cover page photo does in fact have the title and author on it. I sent them a message about it being rejected when it is for sale on a book store website, and what needs to change to receive approval.

PS. Heard back from publisher and approved. They said to wait 12 weeks for my account to show my book as approved.

Tonight's adventure

Well, roommate hit a pothole during his job, and one of the lights fell out, so he had to call roadside assistance again. Insurance only gives 3 tows for free in a year. He did have a spare, but the light needs repaired. Great. I get to pick him up at work tonight.

Well, roadside assistance helped put on the spare donut so he drove the car home and I came home. He contacted a tire shop to change the tire the next day.

Found out that Roommate did try to change the tire last night so he could drive home, but he was on a hill, and the car rocked back to collapse on the jack. It almost fell on his hand, he said. With the fall, the bumper below the light came off near the tire. So he was nervous about changing the new tire and had the roadside guy help him get the spare tire on and removed the tiny jack provided under the car. So he paid a nearby tire shop to replace his damaged tire and wheel. He has duct tape holding the bumper in place. Then he got upset that they used a drill to get the nuts on, so they will be harder to remove the old-fashioned way if he needs to change it again.

Spring is here

Let the pets out this morning into the backyard. Had to chase Goldie the cat inside when I saw her panting under a bush. It's warm out here, baby. A/C running. Had to go sign the title for my roommate's car and then grocery shopped. We needed pet food and toilet paper.

Too sore to workout

Resting today. Working on a story.

Exhausted

Came home from over 2 hours of Pilates exercises. I had my turn doing a half hour class. I'm sore and stiff today.

Back in the Pilates Studio

Last weekend for studio classes and the rest of the education hours are at my descretion. Half way done.

New Job for Roommate

Roommate starts new pizza delivery's next week Monday. He got a new phone and number so they were contacting his old number. He got ahold of the manager today to get his start date.

2 Job Interviews set

I think I stepped into the twilight zone. Got a call to set up an interview for a part-time secretary. Set up for Thursday. Then got a call to chat with an HR person who emailed an office test and then called for a brief phone interview. They are sending my info to the hiring manager for the office manager position. Hopefully, I don't get either one to interrupt my Pilates Instructor plans. But until unemployment runs out at the end of the month, I have to keep applying for jobs. Got called to set up the 2nd interview for tomorrow. PS. Both interviews went well. PSS. Received rejection from Secretary job employer. Oh well.

Happy Easter

Got up early for church and then went home. Took photos of Rufus in a bunny costume. Gave the cats and dogs their Easter basket of toys and treats. Cooked ham for the roommates. Relaxed most of the afternoon watching a channel's Easter specials about the 1st Easter. Went over to brother's house for dinner and came home in the dark after a good visit with family.

Roommate Car Won't Start

Roommate's car, sitting at a gas station, suddenly won't start. Tried jumping it with my car, still won't start. Don't know if the starter is not working when the dashboard lights are on. Battery and check engine lights stay on. I don't get it when the mechanic did a diagnostic of the car yesterday when the car wasn't shifting, and the check engine light was on. We got the car back 3 hours and now won't start. PS. They removed the starter to get to the broken cord for the gear shifter and failed to correctly hook it back so I wire burned out stopping the starter from working. And I get pay for their labor fixing their mistake. Roommate gave me such a hard time about it saying the mistake repair should be free. Tell the mechanic that. If he wants to go to another mechanic then he can be my guest, I doubt any of them will be different. That is how the world works. What do he expect me to do? Mechanic fixed my car, again. Yes, I am angry about it, but not have much power to change it. I don't know how to fix cars.

Interesting Day

Well, my day got interesting. roommate's car stopped for a train, and when he tried to shift back to drive, the gear got stuck in Park. I had him call the roadside assistance number to tow the car to my mechanic (yes, my car insurance covers roadside assistance instead of getting AAA). I went to pick them up. Got the call from the mechanic, and a damaged part was recalled. No refunds when a mechanic changes it. What are we supposed to do, tow it to a dealership? And what about the check engine light about oil pressure sensor? Roommate informs me that his new pizza delivery job is waiting for a background check and has not gotten back to him. They said he was hired, and then there was no call on when to start. He gave up his other job because they said he was hired. Now he is applying to be a tow truck driver. Well, he hasn't saved up enough to pay for repairs, so I have to pay. I told him that used cars break down. He got mad when he drove home from the car lot and by the time he reached my house that the check engine light came on. That's life.

I don't believe this

I don't believe this. My eBook was rejected again for Global Distribution because the author's name is not on the cover. Last time, the problem was that the NGX Table of Contents was set up incorrectly. Seriously, the cover is an image, a photo. Had to situate the cover picture, book title, and author name on a Word document and snip it to get a PNG photo file because I can't download a Word document for the cover. Then it was the wrong size to download to the website, so I had to change the size to be accepted. I hope this version is satisfactory. The eBook is for sale on freaking Amazon.
