Sad story

This week my coworker got a surprise, and so did we. I discovered a
coworker was adopted by his stepfather and real his father had
absolutely no contact with him all his life. Suddenly, his real father
called up his mother to ask for my coworker's phone number. His mother
refused to give it to him saying she would deliver a message. My
coworker never called the man to find out what he wanted. His father has
lived in the same city all these years and never once contacted my
coworker who is in his early 20's. That's sad.

Another coworker at another job had a similar lost loss relative
contact. When her father was in the hospital, he told her she had a
younger brother she never knew about. She was furious. She refused to
come over when he died, but did go to the funeral to ask people about
her brother. A female relative told her where to find him with his name
and age. She immediately contacted him to discover that her brother knew
about her existance, but did not know where to look. His searches for
her came up to dead ends. At least after 36 years she got a brother, she
thought she was an only child.

I am glad I will never have an experience like that. My Mom does family
history research so I know all about close and distant relatives, past
and present, whether I want to or not. Though my sister and her husband
found out after they were married that they are distant cousins, though
his dead mother's side. That was a little creepy. Post later. Bye!
