Took Precious to the vet and Precious is still mad at me. Got up early and dragged the carrier out. Precious stuck his head inside but ran off when I tried to push him the rest of the way in. Chased him down and pushed on his shoulders to keep him down as I closed the door. He meowed on the way there.
Two gigantic collies and their owner were chatting with the nurses getting his bill ready. That freaked out Precious. Then a tiny puppy came in with her family, it fit sugly in the lady's hand. The little girl was eager to tell everyone they got a new puppy and it is a poodle. Man walked out to the car for the paper stating where they got the puppy. All I heard was "they were selling puppies" so I assume a pet store or person with lacking experience when I heard that puppy was too young to be taken from her mother. And too young for any shots or inspection for defects. The nurse guessed 4-5 weeks old and said this occurs a lot. She gave directions for bottle feeding puppy milk formula, rubbing tummy with wet rag to make it poop, and get it on puppy food in 3 weeks, then in 4 weeks bring it in for shots and checkup. I was horrified and glad I checked a cat book to know when my kittens should leave their mama cat before getting them so they were litterbox trained, weaned, and ready for shots when I received them.
Precious is a pound overweight at 16.8 pounds and needs lower calorie food. Guess this means less food in the bowls. His mats were so terrible on his rear that the nurse shaved his butt. He didn't like it at all and got wrapped in a towel to keep him still. One more mat left must be a sensitive spot cause Precious would not have anymore of it. The nurse asked if he had his front claws. He has all his claws. They stopped when the nurse holding him almost got bit and scratched. Paid the bill with yet another dog staring at Preicous in the carrier. Tried to comb and yank out more mats to Precious's displeasure at home. The big one on his butt is about to come loose, but is holding on. Strange they have not been meowing at the door to go out. Frodo is napping on top of the cupboards and Precious is hiding his tail on the balcony. I told the nurse it was amazing Precious lets me pet him even when he is mad at me (for good reason too). Post later.
