Today I come in and the manager is concerned about people getting home. One coworker is guessing he won't be in tomorrow from all the flooding. Wimp. I have no excuse because I cross no bridges and it's all hilly and curvy. Darn me for being so reliable.
There is a notice on the front door that as of now, there is no forced evacuation, but we are next to the flood line so that could change. Here's hoping.
A coworker asked if a certain guy next door was fired cause he hasn't been here all week. I explained he is on vacation this week. He wanted to take the family to Illinois, but the gas prices cancelled that trip so they are staying at home to take in the nearby sites, like the levees. A coworker driving home went to see a levee issue that knocked out a railroad bridge. It was so cool looking at the water covering the tracks. I'm glad someone found that exciting. He called again later to announce he made it home, in the long way around way.
I had two car keys with the same car number so my coworker had to check both outside to make sure the correct car numbers were in the system, it helps with returning.
Guy on a cell phone first asked if we had cars available. No. Oh, he already has one of our cars and it won't start so he wants to change cars. Why didn't he say that in the first place? We can exchange cars, I meant if you do not have a reservation we have no cars available. Now he wants another Caddy cause that's what he has. We don't carry Caddies, so he has to take a SUV or Van. Now he freaks about being charged extra for the larger car. It is an exchange, there will be no extra charge for the larger car. No, he was charged extra for getting a bigger car when he rented so he thinks he shouldn't have to pay for the upgrade since the car broke down. He has to take that up with the renting location. He has the car for 3 days so he has to pay for the 3 day rental. We don't give free rentals because cars break down, we exchange them at no extra cost.
Then some guy walks by the counter screaming at everyone that it is not right and not fair nobody does cash rentals, this is America! What does being America have to do with accepting cash rentals? My coworker said under her breath, Because we are giving you a $40,000 car, dumbass. Yeah, and you can wreck the car and not pay for it like many before you who try to get out of paying for their damaged cars. That is why we require a creidt card, we always get our money.
Wait for delayed flight cause lady called to make sure we will be here when her delayed flight comes in. Then she comes to the counter and announces she doesn't need the car after all. Bitch. But at least she was the last one. There was flight delayed later, but nobody called or put in that flight number, so I went home.
Ah, home. Cats very happy to see me. Got a notice of my Precious need to visit the vet soon. That is a first. End of the month, I'll get that done. Nothing else to report. Post later.
