My roommate called me at work stating my ferret is dead. He was wrestling with the cats and fell down the stairs. After the tumble, he was alive but barely moving. Roommate said it was the first time he saw both cats at the same time. My roommate was with him when he passed. He went into full panic attack demanding I come home right away. I called for security to watch my counter while I went home to find out what happened. I held my furbaby and blew into his nose. No noise. I opened his mouth and his tongue and gums were all red. I closed his mouth and no movement. I moved his paws and no movement. I cried realizing he is really gone for good. My roommate hugged me. I wrapped Boromir in a dish towel and went back to work. The restaurant manager was on the phone with my supervisor trying to check a couple into the hotel. I explained my ferret wrestling with the cats fell down the stairs and we think he died from internal bleeding or a brain hemorrhage. No injuries on the outside that I could see. Ferrets are so fragile. I put my purse back into my locker and checked the couple in. I apologized for making them wait so long. Goodbye my sweet boy.
