Surprise Phone Interview

(Frustrated scream) Get a message to call a manager from a HR Assistant job I applied for. Called the manager thinking they wanted to set up a time to come in for interview. They answer and start a phone interview immediately without any preparation. Then after 3 questions, they will let know in a few days. Didn't set an in person interview. Was my voice too high? Was $16 an hour too much for them? Sigh.

But at least, today's interview with the accountant and other hotel accountant went well and I get to talk to the corporate Director of Finance tomorrow. X fingers.

Sweet surprise

Got a security guard flirting with me. He even bought a few of my beaded pens and a keychain. He said he was hoping to move into his own place soon. I asked where he was living now. He said he was living in a homeless shelter. Feels like jail and food is terrible. He has to sleep on a street bench cause they don't allow sleeping in the daytime, but he works nights. Feel a little guilty taking his money when he has no home. But then he can resell them too.

Interview scheduled

Funny. I have a job interview next week at my hotel for accounting assistant. The job would include my hotel plus another hotel in West Des Moines. I probably won't get the job cause then they would have to replace me as night auditor, just like not getting the sales coordinator job last fall. Night auditors are next to impossible to replace.

Back in Business

Sold out of my Valentine Beaded Bracelets, Pens, and Keychains with coworkers still wanting one so finished making new items with fresh supplies. These are for Easter instead of Valentine's Day. Yes, all the heart beads are in storage for next year. People love my new products. Sold a few bracelets. Put up the new items for sale on my social media so relatives and friends can buy them. Have one housekeeper wanting to get a large order of bracelets, but never has money to pay for them. She grabbed my last 2 keychains, but a dollar short (technically $1.05 cause she was a nickel short in her coins payment) so hopefully someday she will hand it over. I told her I got fresh supplies, but she keeps putting off paying for them. Yeah, either buy them or don't buy them but don't jerk me around. It's been a week since Valentine's Day and she still hasn't paid the dollar she owes.

Went to the grocery store and found a sparrow flying around. It flew away when I got too close with my cart.

Wedding at the hotel

Pretty quiet tonight. Today's drama was a coworker came in early because a wedding was supposed to have bar service. I heard the reception music in the ballroom. Then I heard the waterfall had to be turned off during the atrium ceremony so guests could hear the vows. Yes, that waterfall makes a lot of noise. Had a quiet night at the hotel. Just the way I like it. Roommate said his girlfriend texted him and was coming over. Never came, but at least she is communicating again.

Birthday Party

Celbrated sister's birthday with restaurant lunch then cake with ice cream at her house. My brother and wife came with our mother. I missed lunch, but came for cake and ice cream. I gave my sister one of my beaded pens as a gift. Naturally everyone else wanted a freebie, but I explained it's not their birthday. They have to pay for them. Stayed to watch a movie. Had a good conversation with sister.

Car buddy still text messaging me. Now he's apologizing. Must be the therapist getting to him. He didn't expect forgiveness cause he didn't deserve. He treated us badly and doesn't blame roommate for leaving him. He blames himself for being toxic. For weeks he had been stayign roommate was the toxic one. Naturally roommate always asked for validation from me if he was being unreasonable. Half the time I didn't know what they were fighting about so couldn't really answer. I told him that I forgave him, but couldn't speak for roommate. He said his therapist is helping him have healthy relationships. I wished him luck.

My hotelis playing host to the athletes and families of the wrestling tournment at a nearby arena. At my hotel, we have a multilevel waterfall. Security told me some wrestlers decided to go swimming in waterfall pools (with no guard rails) at 3 AM. Yeah, they jumped from the 4th floor waterfall pool to the 3rd floor waterfall pool to the 2nd floor waterfall pool while someone was taking pictures across the atrium. I asked if they got pictures of him yelling at them to get out. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen when they get hurt. Probably posted it on the internet too. I also heard from an engineer that some kids shoved plastic bottles and batteries in 2 ice machines to start fires that set off the fire alarm. Yes, we had an actual fire instead of burst pipes setting off the fire alarm. Engineer had to take them apart to find out why they caught fire. I look forward to them leaving, which is tomorrow. We actually had to hire off duty cops to help control the kids. One look at their uniforms and they are suddenly polite. They combat and laugh at the security officers who can't really do anything to them. Tonight's drama was someone vomiting in the pool and elevator. And 2nd floor hall. Pool got shut down. Engineer cleaned up the elevator and then helped guest with their TV. Security used a dust rag to clean the 2nd floor hall. A homeless guy try to get into guest rooms. Police kicked him out.

Happy Birthday to Sister

Sister turns 55 today. We are getting together with family on Sunday for lunch. Selling beaded pens, keychains, and bracelets at work. I had no idea they would be so popular. I got Easter beads my coworkers adore. Once these are sold, I cant buy more supplies cause I need to save my money to repair my car. I hit a light pole so need new front bumper. I have no money which is why I am declaring bankuptcy. I will definately know when paperwork is filed when all the credit card phone calls cease. They have to cease when file petition to declare bankruptcy.

Car buddy is still text messaging me. Now it's "Is roommate done being mad so I can move back in?". Roommate is so much happier without him. He said he doesn't want to be his partner in crime cause he is so needy and he doens't want to take care of him emotional. He sounds like my Mom, very emotionally draining. Told him roommate got a new job and doing well. Car buddy said he got a factory job. He isn't in the city anymore so wonder if he moved back in with his mother's trailer. He wants to be friends again, but roommate is over him. I think it's for good. He relayed what his therapist said about healing and not being isolated. He wants to heal together and be friends again. I explained he can't fix roommate, he can only fix himself. I can't fix roommate either, he has to fix himself. I can provide a safe place to sleep, give him food and pay the utilites, but I can't get him a job, pay his court fines, or fix his relationships. I told him if roommate wants to talk to him, he will contact him. That made his reply how he will have emotional walls up to protect himself. He thought of roommate as a romantic partner more than a friend though roommate has a girlfriend. Didn't tell him that relationship is shaky when she quit her job the day after his first day and cease communication with him. He is still waiting for her to come around when she is ready.

Completed my taxes. Thanks to me taking out money from my IRAs to make debt counseling payments for 9 months, I owe the government $2500. I have to put my car insurance check into my Traditional IRA or pay $300 more for Fed income tax. Despite what immigrants believe, not everyone gets a big refund. Some people pay. Now I have to pay the bankruptcy trustee to keep my car, thank goodness for hitting the light pole that lowered my car value. Then save my money to repair my car. I really have to pinch my pennies now. I begged roommate to help me out. Just paying for groceries with his tips would help. He is a paycheck or two from paying off his court fines. He has to pay them off by March so I'm not pushing him too hard for money. He said his friend was going to give him money for his fines, but apparantly that is not happening if using his paychecks. Then when fines are paid he wants to save for a laptop.

Happy Valentine's Day

Car buddy is still text messaging me. I refuse to block him since he has still has to remove his mattress from my basement so need that line of communication open. Besides, if he doesn't text me then he sends texts to other roommate friends to relay to him which upsets my roommate. I told roommate that it resembled me separating from my Mom who clung to me for dear life. I love my Mom, I care about my Mom, but I don't love her so much that she gets to control every aspect of my life. Boundaries need to be made. He said for weeks his friends was so clinging and always wanted needed to be around him. He would come into the living room where I was sitting to hang out. He would leave their room to ask if he was coming back soon which upset roommate. Can't he hang out with the home owner for a while without him? Car buddy texted his started seeing a therapist to make his relationship stronger. He said he can walk away as his therapist taught him how. Therapist also said he is autistic which would explain his emotional outbursts. He also said his grandma was out of the hospital. He wondered if roommate had autism. No, I think it is more ADHD with disorganization, lack of impulse control, and trouble focusing. I wished him luck.

Girlfriend arrived at roommate's job to be accused of stealing the missing deposit. She was so insulted being accused of the theft that she quit and walked out on her job. All her hard work just went down the drain. Roommate guessed she was getting stoned now. He confessed she had recently revealed wanting to relapse. He tried to convince he not to. She has so much to lose by relapsing. Well, she cut off all communication so he is waiting to hear from her again.

Visited sister as therpist recommended to end my social isolation. We cut out cookies from dough she made. Her husband gave her flowers. Smelled good. We caught up to each other. Nephew is doing well in college and niece is doing well at her job. When I got home I frosted my pink moscato cupcakes and a red velvet heart-shaped cake I baked yesterday to take to work. Roommate wanted to help frost the cakes. He did a good job. Everybody at work loved them. I wonder if I could sell cake mixes for extra income. I would need to do videos on a social media platform to get followers who hopefully could turn into customers. Maybe after the bankruptcy is final. Planning is in order. Roomate is happy to eat the leftovers. He loves my pink moscato cupcakes, espcially when he gets to drink a glass of leftover wine. Strange Ash Wednesday is on Valentine's Day. Oh Well.

Happy Mardi Gras

Well car buddy laid off the texting a couple and back at it saying his grandma is in the hospital and wants prayers, plus have a phone call with roommate. Roommate replied how that woman was a b*tch to him and car buddy so he don't care if she lives or dies from her blood clot. He is just trying to weasel his way back into his life and my house. I replied roommate is sorry his grandma was in the hospital, but no phone call cause he needs to learn to handle problems on his own. He didn't to discuss his grandma, just gettign his things. Roommate said he didn't want to be in the house when he came to get his things. I had to realy the message from roommate to stop trying to contact him.

Roomate started his first day at the coffee shop. Girlfriend called in family emergecy so wasn't there. He likes his new boss and says he's cool. Drama occurred when boss discovered a deposit was missing from the safe. The people working the night before were the girlfriend and another coworker. Which took the deposit? Roommate is certain it wasn't girlfriend. She is turning her life around and wouldn't ruin it like that. She gave up heroin (but not marijuana she keeps giving to roommate when she visits), got her kid back, and living with her cousin. She worked up to be a manager (I'm guessing shift manager since not the general manager who hired my roommate) so she wouldn't suddenly start stealing again like when she was on heroin.

Car buddy got a new phone right before he was kicked out to the food delivery again. Apparently his broke. With the new phone, he has been sendign roommate text messages again begging to come back until roommate blocked him again. Friendship is over. I say he is not allowed back in other than collect his belongings, but not overnight. They can't go 2 whole days without fighting and car buddy getting kicked out. Once he is blocked again, I get the messages to relay. I had to say again roommate is refusing to read the messages. Roommate is so happy he starts a job and workign with his girlfriend so they can get closer. He commented how she is nervous about their relationship. I explained they were both on the rebound and she is probably wondering "Will this work out or another relationship that ends badly". He saw my point. She is insecure right now.

Sold all my beaded items for Valentine's Day so buying more supplies. Start working on St Pat's Day or Easter items.

Happy Lunar New Year

Hooray! Roommate was hired at the coffee shop interview and starts Tuesday. He is so happy to be working again. It drives him crazy to stare at walls all day. He even wants to grocery store with me just to get out of the house. Let's all pray he keeps this job for a while. I told him he and car buddy need to stop tryign to help each other and just focus on themselves. I suggested roommate focus on a getting a job, paying off his court fines, get his guard card back with change in case status, and be the security guard he wants to be. I even suggested applying for night auditor jobs since he likes to work overnight. Nobody wants those hours so standards are lower and pay is higher. All he would do is babysit a hotel and print reports. Not hard.

The Bad and the Good

Oh my, I missed excitement at work. Heard the hotel had another flood from a pipe burst. Soaked guest rooms from 6th floor to the lobby floor. Don't worry, it was rapidly fixed.

Roommate had an interview where his current girlfriend works at a coffee shop. Yes, I will take favortism if it gets him a job. Car buddy roommate is still alive and send lengthy text messages roommates calls novels. He finally had enough of his whine fest and blocked him. Which makes car buddy text message me to relay to my roommate.

Dear God help me

I come home from work and find the back door open plus kitchen light on. I count cats and everyone is inside. While checking for Misty under the couch, I notice a leg on my ottoman is screwed off. I can't get it screwed back on. I messaged the guys asking what was going on. Buddy didn't know cause he just woke up. I go to sleep to wake up to them fighting again. I don't know why but buddy is being kicked out again. He complained roommate is leaving him out in the cold and wants his gifts back. Roommate complains this buddy won't leave easily. He has no place to go so of course he doesn't want to leave. Roommate later confessed it was him who failed to lock the door so the wind blew it open. He screwed the leg on ottoman back on. We agree buddy can come collect his belongings but no longer allowed to stay here. While checking my social media hours later, buddy is calling me and I failed to answer the phone. He starts texting me cause roommate has blocked him. I relay the messages to roommate how he is now threatening to kill himself with fentanyl which roommate claims he has threatened this before when he tries to end the relationship. I called it emotional blackmail by threatening suicide to get my sympathy. If he was serious about suicide, he would have done it and not said anything. I tell him to call the crisis line. He refuses. I ask if I need to call an ambulance like my roommate did last September for me. Then he changes his tone asking if roommate will visit him if he went to the hospital and then demands being paid back money he gave him. How would roommate repay him if he is dead? Roommate finally gets tired of reading the messages I'm getting and calls him. He promises to come to his funeral. Then he goes on how his death would be all of roommate's fault. No, I reply, their fights are both their fault. Both have parts in their fights. He agrees I am right about that. He tells me roommate is the only family he has. I tell him he needs to repair his family relationships so he is not hanging on to the roommate. It is not a healthy relationship if they keep fighting and buddy gets kicked out to be let in later to be kicked out during the next fight. Then minutes go by and nothing. Think he is done talking. Nope. He contacts me again wanting roommate's handle for money transfers. Roommate doesn't want more money from him so I refuse to give it. He finally stops texting me.

I work on my laundry and get ready for work.

Therapist Day again

Had an interesting session today with the therapist. Had a drama with getting car fixed and deductible will wipe out my IRA completely. I decided to take pictures and get an estimate from adjustor that way. I got the estimate from the car insurance today. I need to save for the deductible part. I need new glasses and get teeth cleaned since I got my insurance back. I went to church with brother and sister-in-law and next time will join their Bible Study. He was unhappy roommate not only came home but brought buddy plus buddy's 2 cats to live in my house without asking if that was alright with me. Cats will be eating my cat food and using my litterbox. I did tell buddy he was welcome to stay until he figures out his next move. After being kicked out last night, buddy was back in the house sleeping in the guest room this morning. He was unhappy about all their fights and agrees buddy needs to go. He said I need to put up boundaries with my roommate by charging him for rides, friend needs a time limit to leave and so does roommate, and roommate plus buddy to help around the house, clean the litterboxes, and pay for groceries. They need to stop drinking alcohol and smoking drugs in my house and yard and they need to apply to 3 jobs a day. Yeah, this conversation he made me write down into my phone is not happening. I am not calling the police on them and sending roommate to jail while on probation when I am trying to keep him out of jail and ruining his future. I'm not throwing roommate out into the street. I can't charge for rides when he has no money. He needs to work to pay off his court fines or go to jail so he is motivated to get a job. If I forbid drugs or alcohol, he will just hide them from me.

All was quiet before going to work. They were doing food delivery and then went into their separate rooms. I went to work.

Why me?

Well today, I tell car buddy that he was welcome to stay here until he is figures out his next move. Roommate complained his friends tell him that I give them the "stink eye" so I felt a need to say something. Hours later, another fight breaks out and car buddy is being kicked out again. Car buddy wants all his gifts back and asks me to to call the police when roommate threatens to throw him out the window if he doesn't stop raising his voice. They constantly drag me into the argument. Yeah, you both interrupt each other trying to repond to the other accusations. I talk it over with roommate. I see a cycle of abuse where the buddy buys beer, they play video games, and they are happy and drunk. Then the tension builds and another fight breaks and buddy is asked to leave again. Then he is let back in the house until the next fight. Roommate wants to help him but he has his own issues to deal with. I tell him they need stop trying to help each other and just work on themselves. I am dealing with my own problems too.

Traumas of the day

Well, that was fun. Went to the car inspection and it's not an inspection. It's an inspect, get approval from insurance to do repair without a word spoken to me about it, and I get a car rental while I wait to find out what this will cost me (I have a deductibleI have to pay). Well, car rental refused my prepaid card and I don't have the credit card required for the deposit. Told the body shop to cancel the repair. They were just about to start taking pictures. Have to call car insurance now.

Asked roommate what went wrong with the new opportity. Buddy's mom lived in a trailer park and they shared a room. There was no job. He helped out on a few things for free. The mom borrowed buddy's car for 8 hours visiting somebody not use it to get to a job. Called her a whore for free who was worse than his ex-girlfriend. Roommate's girlfriend encouraged him to come back. I was certainly missing him and not be mad at him. Girlfriend liked my beaded items and wants to buy some. Seems such a nice girl that I hope it works out between them. They have issues to overcome and they can hopefully can have their happily ever after someday. I can't marry my roommate cause that would be too weird. He is same age as my niece. In fact, when I first him I tried to set him up with my niece cause he is too young for me. And we just feel friendship for each other wanting the other person to be happy. Someday he will leave again. I will work on connecting with people so I don't miss him so much.

Roommate is back

Roommate called me at 2 Am when I was doing the audit at my hotel job that he needs me to pick him up. Not now of course, but later today. OK. He gave me the address that was 3 hours away. I ask what went wrong cause he was so hopeful to work and have a place to stay. He will tell me later. The buddy's mom is putting buddy in a bad spot where he is being forced to give up his 2 cats. They share a room in a trailer that is in a trailer park going by the address I looked up.

After work, I go to brother's church in my work clothes. Can't stay for Bible study cause I need sleep to go pick up roommate and be back home to get to work. Hug good-bye. Wake up at home and roommate messaged that buddy will be bringing him home. And he is bringing buddy's cats to live in my house. It's the least he can do for him. The cats will stay in his room instead of roaming the house.

They arrive and then go get roommate's girlfriend to spend the night. I show the girlfriend my beaded pens and keychains plus the last bracelet I have. They were popular at work and sold several of them. Roommate wants me to call at 4:30 AM so girlfriend can get to work. Ok, I can do that.

Happy Grounhog Day

Not much happening at my house. I sit alone and pet the cats in a daze. Doing my therapist homework connecting with people. He thought my home church would be a good place to start to meet people so I am not longing for Austin by myself. I was once close to my siblings until they got too busy taking care of our Mom plus nonstop grudges where they give me the silent treatment. Text messaged my work friends, sister and brother. Set up with brother to visit his church on Sunday. I'm not sure if he wants me there, but I'm coming. Asked sister to bake sugar cookies with her and I have heart cookie cutters we can use. Texted 2 coworkers to have dinner together or bar hopping and they answered back they would be open to that.
