It was such a lovely day, then storm comes in making us a headline on the news, but when I left work it went back to being nice.
OK, cats objected to harnesses and when I finally got them on, they refused to go out the door. Probably cause yesterday I trapped them just outside the door so they had no escape from the harnesses. My cats fall for tricks once and then I have to come up with a new one. So we stayed inside today. In fact they didn't even go out on the balcony.
Go to work and find a note to the manager when grabbing my name tag in the drawer. I unleashed a little frustration at my coworker about Nightmare #1. She thinks she will end up like another nightmare customer who exploded every time I gave the total for her extended rental, on the Do Not Rent List from non-payment or failure to return. As long as they pay their bill or pay for a totaled car, we rent to them. It was quite boring and the guys left 3 1/2 hours early. Everybody will come on Monday for Tuesday morning meetings. Discover a mechanic of ours is lying about oil changes and tire rotations he is charging us for. One bossman marked the tires to know for sure if they were rotated, marks were right where he left them. Then the oil is coming back the wrong color therefore that is not being done right either. So the bossman has gotten a new mechanic. He is always looking for a better deal so he changes them once in a while.
Then our headlining storm hit us and no flights landed for 2 hours. The electricity went out 4 times at the airport shutting down my computer. Everytime the computer was close to coming back up, power went out and had to start all over, 3 times. My DVD player also went out and the movie started over so had to FF to get where I was, 2 times. My computer came back up after a half hour. Good thing nothing was landing cause we handwrite our contracts when computers go down and type everything in the computer later. I look outside several times. Pouring rain and very windy. Flight from Chicago was delayed until almost 2 AM flying around the storm. It was all quiet and humid when the planes started landing again. And here I was worried I was going to get wet from not bringing a coat cause it was so nice when I left for work. One customer reported the stall sign fell over and made a hole in his hood. I saw our return lot sign was gone except for the bottom 2 car rentals. 2 trees fell over by the exit, small trees with rope tied around them. Lots of branches in the grass.
Come home to excited cats wanting attention. I realized I had left the windows open in this storm. Nothing felt wet. Oh yeah, Mom called reminding me about our trip tomorrow. I assured her it was on my calendar, but I admit freely I am prone to forgetting. I take Mom out to her side of the family cemetery and hour from Des Moines while Dad takes her to his side around their home. Mom says she ran out of flowers so mine will have to cover all the tombstones.
Better go to bed. It's after 3 AM. Later.
