I took my cats out as usual. It stopped raining finally and sun peeked out. When I went looking for Frodo towards the end of our outing (he was watching a chipmunk in a tree then disappeared), Precious got distracted and chased a squirrel into the bushes next to the playground. I heard Frodo meow so I knew he was within yelling distance. Soon, I had to call for Precious. He comes tearing out of the bushes and runs behind me. A stray cat comes out of the bushes too. He chases Precious to the back door and lets out a loud cat fight scream. Stray cat starts following me as a call my cats and meows while I call them. He stops when I stop. I can't find Precious in the bushes anywhere near the door. Some lady brings her dogs out and I start talking to this stray cat claiming he is the reason my cats won't come home.
I walk upstairs and grab the can cat food to encourage them to come. I hear distant meows and the stray cat talking. Go inside and cook a cheese sandwich after propping the door open so my cats can have an escape route upstairs. Stray sniffs around the door, but never goes inside. Stray cat waits by the door. After sandwich is done, I go outside again. I learned if I stop calling them several minutes they come to the door, or at least closer. I threaten to leave them outside to play with the stray cat if they don't come in. Eventually, Frodo appears and his targeting system gets locked onto the stray cat. He growls and hisses to make the cat back up. But I want to go inside. I chase him down while he chases off the stray cat. I hear Precious meow near the door. After several minutes of brushing up against wet bushes trying to grab Frodo, I carry him home. Stray cat follows us with Frodo looking over my shoulder. I cry for Precious and find him on the stairs. I toss Frodo in the door and kick the rocks propping the door. I sneak in the door and finally we go home. What a day. Post later. Bye!
