Baby's name

I visited my Mom today after my dentist appointment. I got my cousin's baby's name my Mom thought so weird. Joelle Clare. Mom thought it was a Lebanon name because her husband is from there. Actually, it's not. It's Hebrew meaning The Lord is willing. It is just the feminine version of the name Joel. Clare is French for the Latin name Clara. Mom thought Clare was a normal name. I got a baby name book a long time ago when I started writing stories so I would know what names mean.

Then Mom had to go on saying my other cousin named her kids with odd names, like Melinda, Matthew, Jordyn, and Justin. The first two she thought normal, but the second two were so strange. Then she had to say they nicknamed Jordyn, Jody. Who in the world would call their kid Jody?, she asks. Um, Mom, I said, my manager's name is Jody. I thought maybe they call her Jordy, for Jordyn. Maybe that was it, she says. I tell her that's from Star Trek. Then the Justin name came up I had to explain to her that names Jordan and Justin are common in America. I had a friend name Justin once upon a time. Anyway, she finally shut up.

I got my teeth cleaned at the dentist today. The dentist said I was part of that elite that never had a cavity, and that was a short list. He recommended to keep doing what I'm doing. I answered, it's my Mom's side of the family. He laughed. When I got home I recieved a phone call from a niece for a fundraiser. $17.50 for a frozen cheese pizza. This better be good pizza. Post later. Bye!
