Had a wonderful Easter dinner on Sunday. The guests arrived early when I was getting ready to set the table. My sister usually comes 30 mins late so I consider arriving on time as "early". So kid guests help set the tables and female adult guests help me finish the fruit salad. Announce the ham is done and brother-in-law got the honors of cutting it. Food ready, we say our prayer and dig in. Kids love the bunny cake even though it moved during transportation from grocery store and fell apart. It tastes the same. I forbade any egg hunt until food put away and dishes in washer. When everything done, I went out to hide the plastic eggs. Sister's in-laws had gifts so they hid those. Kids sat on the couch so they couldn't look out the window under guard of the grandmas. I came inside and said they could go out. I announced a prize for whoever found the most, the first pick of boxed candy. Nephew cried he wouldn't get any candy and my sister explained that I said "First pick to the winner" (both niece and nephew get candy boxes).
Niece won by 3 eggs and picked her candy box first. Kids emptied the plastic eggs and loved how I filled up the eggs w/jelly beans and chocolates and gummy bunnies instead of just one piece of candy in it. They ask "Now what do we do". We watched It's the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown on VHS. Niece loves this show. I like the sign "246 days until Xmas" when Charlie Brown and friends go into the retail store. When that was over we watched a new cartoon movie nephew saw in the theater. He has been chewing on the cover since lunch and sister had to put it up high. Gave a tour of family heirlooms to sister's mother-in-law. Some things my Mom made while others made my 2 grandmas, grandpa, and great grandma. Movie done, sister's in-laws left. Then sister's family and my Mom got ready to leave. Partioned the food and said our good-byes. Good Easter dinner.
