Family Reunion

Went to family reunion. It was in a A/C'ed house and more than usual people came so some people had to sit on the floor. Host had his daughter and 2 grandsons living with them. I enjoyed watching my mother play Candyland w/a stranger's boys. She would never play Candyland (or any game for that matter) with us kids nor her grandkids, ever. Hostess's cousin in Virginia came w/5 gradnkids. The Cousins now retired want to go out to Virginia and visit DC with this cousin and husband. But we young people are too poor for such an adventure.

Got the usual questions, How's my job? When am I getting a new job? When do I start getting vacation and how many days off? Nobody asks about my cats or my finishing my novels, what I do for fun, of course. Just work questions. Retired people had to trade adventures and ailments. Why do old people insist on telling everybody what's wrong with them. Widows traded experiences finding new life after losing their husbands. Poor aunt planned on their retirement years traveing all over the states and now she has to go alone or wait for one of her relatives to open their schedule. All together it was a good day.
