Interesting day

From the time I showed up to work until 4 hours later the car rental next door had a long line. One of their customers parked in front of our stalls and we planned to tell them to move it when the line died down. It never did. Even better, their customers hung around in front of my counter complaining on the half hour to 2 hour wait for their name to be called to receive their car. Guy told me they delivered 35 cars to FEMA's hotels so they didn't have to wait on the sidelines for their name to be called. This is ridiculous, he said. They also have been delivering cars to the private plane hangars where Indy car racers are flying into. We have too and my manager is a big car racing fan so she gets her picture taken with them. Guess hot shot drivers and their groupies don't take public transportation. I told one of their customers calling her hotel on her cell phone declaring she will be late because the car rental has a two hour wait for cars to be available that she needs to call their consumer affairs number cause that is not right to make people wait two hours for their reserved car. Things happen when people complain. I think she waited closer to 20 minutes.

In other news I found out a guy at work put in his 2 week notice 2 weeks ago so they a pizza party in his honor cause tomorrow is his last day, well now today is his last day. I know the bossman will miss him, he worked inside, outside, and at our other location. Nobody else does that. The past year or so the bossman has gotten the habit of not replacing people when someone quits so I wonder if anyone outside will be trained to work the counter. The bossman likes flexible people who can work inside and outside as needed. But not all the outside guys can handle customers and not all inside people are willing to wash cars. I refuse to stink if I don't have to.

Cats got scared again with the birds swooping down, even as they stared out the apartment window and balcony. Then it rained for a while. Well nothing else to report. Post later. Bye!
