Busy day

We were quite busy at work today. We blame it on the disaster relief, though not necessarily the case. People still think Des Moines is underwater. I explain the water is in Missouri breaking their levees now.

One guy said he pulled his boss of the golf course to help him get 17 cars before the car washers leave. All their available cars are dirty and their two guys couldn't clean cars fast enough. Their problem is the company plan changed from a set of workers washing cars and another set shuttles them back and forth to every outdoor person grabs a returned car, washes it, and brings it back to be rented. Looks good on paper until one experiences a mad rush, like 20 people renting or returning cars at once. Returned cars must be removed before customers start double parking cause they just can't park in another company's stall (customers fuss when we tell them to do this). And customers throw a fit if they have to wait 2 minutes for their car cause they made a reservation and we knew they were coming (yeah, you and everybody else). I can only imagine what they said about a 2 hour wait last week. Many tried to rent their cars elsewhere. If I had cars, my boss would have made a fortune and I would get a very nice commission.

So the manager comes in and places on temporary plates for their new cars they got yesterday to solve the problem of the car shortage. And then left again. I assume back to the golf course.

Had a kid selling stuff for his community program that helps keep kids off the street with activities. Frodo hid on the cupboards and Precious investigated the stranger. I explained he is friendly (Precious will take attention from anybody). The kid petted him saying how soft he is. I got a blue glass bird. I have a red one just like it. I know I'm not suppose to spend money if I shouldn't, but couldn't help donating to a good cause.

Well better get to bed. Another day of telling people we are sold out of cars ahead. Post later.
