Drama at work

Today I come in to find out that the new car washer clocked in, went over to wash one of his children's mother's car in the wash bay with kids hanging out in the back seat, then left for an hour with this woman, still on the clock, and hasn't cleaned a single car rental car. Washing personal cars is only allowed off the clock. Even worse, the bossman's brother walked by and saw this major no-no in the wash bay, but didn't want to yell at him in front of his kids. Later the bossman calls over asking when he left and has my coworker write on his timecard when he was last seen. Then when he came back, he commented how many dirty cars there were in the lot. Yeah, cause he isn't there washing them which puts pressure on the others to pick up the slack. Next, he takes 2 and 1/2 hours to wash a car. The guys average 4 to 5 cars an hour. A car washer spotted him sitting in a car listening to the radio instead of cleaning. Next car takes him an hour to clean. Night shift coworker comes in and we give a warning to be on his very best behavior cause the bossman is still here cause things are not getting done. Later, the night shift person brings in keys all upset about the dirty cars not getting cleaned that he will have to do tomorrow morning. The coworkers discussed back and forth if this new car washer is going to get fired or just reprimanded. It is the opinion of several that he should be fired for that stunt. Some wonder if he was planning to quit.

Then I come to find out about the gal next door's cancer and twisted back was no secret, everybody knows about it. It's colon cancer and lymphoma. I assumed this was discovered while they were investigating her back pain. She went home early when she hurt herself so I assume they checked out everything for the worker's comp papers and found it. She is going through chemo and radiation, and whatever, and will be out of work for 6 more months.

Better go to bed now. Post later. Bye!
