Silent rebellion

I noticed ever since the state legislature made English the official language for Iowa's government documents a few years ago that more public signs and labels appear in Spanish. Kitchen towels, shoe cleaner, bank signs stating their check cashing policy, and directions on my Sudoku puzzle book all have Spanish translations next to the English words. Is this a silent rebellion against conformity? The news anchor on TV even wished everyone a Happy Cinco de Mayo today. I live in an amazing world. Post later. Bye!
