Easter plans

The same thing happens every year. People are asking my Easter plans again. They are simple: working. At my job, Easter is not a paid holiday which means I must work my entire shift without extra pay (9 1/2 hours). The boss's excuse for it is because Easter is a religious holiday. My argument is always the same: And Christmas is not a religious holiday. We not only get a Christmas gift from the boss, a Christmas bonus from the company, and a paid holdiay for Christmas, Christmas Day's hours are so short only one coworker is there. A paid holiday means the employees get paid whether we are there or not. Holiday pay is equal to overtime pay. Last time I checked, Christmas is a Christian holiday celebrating the birth of the founder of the Christianity religion. I'm sure many Christians can disagree on my explanation saying it's celebrating the birth of Christ and I should know that. I think many devoted Christians forget that Christianity is a religion too. To a person who is not a Christian, Christmas is solely a Christian holiday plain and simple. I was amused at a newspaper opinion section where a reader was disgusted at atheists celebrating Christmas and said only true Christians should be celebrating the birth of Christ. Why does this person care who celebrates Christmas? Where is this person's Christian love?
I know the real reason we have to miss having Easter dinner with our families. Only one person can ask for any given day off at a time. Ya see on Christmas Day, few people rent cars. We are busy renting cars before and after Christmas with people visiting their families, but not Christmas Day. Easter is busy with business traveler's coming for Monday morning meetings, so it is a money decision, not because of religion. So my Easter dinner will be whatever I buy from the airport cafeteria. Post later. Bye!
